The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has verified that in General Faiz Hameed case three more retired military officers are included. These arrests are part of the Field General Court Martial (FGCM) proceedings against the retired general.
The ISPR stated that these three retired officers were also part of the community that goes against military discipline. The investigation is still in process, the authorities are investigating deeper into the case and looking for the involvement of the officers and their companion in the case. who might be working with some political parties to create flux in the system.
According to sources, of the three arrested military officers two were on the rank of brigadier, while one of them was the colonel. The brigadiers, named Ghaffar and Naeem, and the colonel, named Asim, reportedly acted as intermediaries between a political party and the former spymaster, Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hamid. So, in total there are eight individuals, including three retired officers and General Faiz Hameed have been taken into custody.

Attaullah Tarar, the current Information Minister said in a press conference, indicated that some more arrests will be made in the upcoming days. He highlighted that anyone who goes against the country’s security and is part of any party results in system instability strict actions will be taken against them.
Gen Faiz was arrested on August 12, following allegations of land grabbing and stealing valuables from a private housing society. These allegations were brought to light by a petition filed with the Supreme Court, which led to a detailed investigation by the Pakistan Army. The findings confirmed multiple violations of the Pakistan Army Act, both during and after Gen Faiz’s service.
As an outcome, disciplinary action has been initiated against the former general, and the operation of his court-martial is under consideration. The investigation will be resumed to check the full matter and individuals that are part of this case.
