Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, organized a ceremony at the GHQ in Pakistan Army Auditorium, Rawalpindi on Friday to appreciate the historic achievement made by Arshad Nadeem in the Paris Olympics 2024.
At this event, great Olympians, sports teams, coaches, Pakistan National Cricket Team, Pakistan National Hockey Team with 1984 Olympic members, and other big personalities were part. This was confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Jehangir Khan, Islahuddin Siddique, Shahbaz Senior, Sohail Abbas, Muhammad Asif, and Aisamul Haq were also in the Celebration. Arshad Nadeem’s family, associates, and coaches were also present with him.

General Asim Munir applauded Arshad Nadeem’s performance and also highlighted that he is the first Pakistani to win the gold medal in a single event where he set an Olympic record in the tournament. He further appreciates his efforts, determination, and how much he is passionate to his work.
The Army Chief praised Nadeem’s achievement, calling it a source of national pride, and emphasized that the entire nation had celebrated him in a way worthy of his accomplishment.
General Munir reaffirmed the military’s dedication to supporting not only athletes but also the wider Pakistani youth. He stressed the importance of youth engagement, development, and entertainment as key factors for building a prosperous society.
Arshad Nadeem expressed his gratitude and underscored the potential of Pakistani youth, encouraging them to work hard, stay positive, and persist in overcoming challenges.
