Gen Asim Munir Visits Waziristan, Assesses Counter-Terrorism Efforts: ISPR

RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir visited Wana to review the security situation and ongoing anti-terrorism efforts, according to the military’s media wing, ISPR.

During the visit, Gen Asim Munir was briefed on the security operations and development projects in the area. He met with officers and armies, honored their readiness and morale, and assured the Pakistan Army’s full commitment to fighting any threats.

He also honored the sacrifices made by security forces and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) who have given their lives in service.

General Asim Munir promised continued support and technical assistance to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police (KPK) to help strengthen their powers. He acknowledged the key role played by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in maintaining peace and supporting the South Waziristan Integrated Development Plan, reaffirming the Army’s priority on the region’s progress.

COAS Munir expressed appreciation to tribal elders for their support in the fight against terrorism. He also laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument to pay tribute to fallen soldiers. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by the Commander of Peshawar Corps.

This visit highlights the Pakistan Army’s ongoing commitment to ensuring security and promoting development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
