In the Pakistan vs England test series, the fourth day of the match, the hosts struggled at 152 for six in their second innings. Pakistan is trailing by 115 runs and needs to avoid an innings defeat in the first Test at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan’s second innings started poorly, losing six wickets for just 82 runs in 24.2 overs. However, Salman Ali Agha (41 not out) and Aamir Jamal (27 not out) managed to add 70 unbeaten runs for the seventh wicket.
For England, Brydon Carse and Gus Atkinson each took two wickets to put Pakistan under pressure.
Earlier, England resumed their first innings at 492 for three. Joe Root and Harry Brook built an impressive 454-run partnership. Root scored 262, his sixth double-century and second against Pakistan.
Brook’s brilliant triple century of 317 made him the sixth England batter to achieve this feat. England declared their innings at 823 for seven, making it the fourth-highest total in Test history.
For Pakistan, Naseem Shah and Saim Ayub took two wickets each but couldn’t stop England from dominating.
