Court Grants Natasha Danish Bail in Karsaz Road Accident Case

Natasha Danish has been granted bail by the Sindh High Court after the victim family in the Karsaz road accident forgave her without demanding any goods. However, her bail requests in the drug case were denied by both a judicial magistrate and a sessions court.

After these denials, Natasha’s legal team took the case to the Sindh High Court. Justice Muhammad Karim Khan Agha granted her bail after hearing both sides. Her lawyer, Farooq H. Naek, who is also the Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council, told the court that the main FIR of the case had been settled.

The people at the place of the incident noticed that Natasha was under the influence of drugs while driving the car. But her lawyer revealed that methamphetamine was only found in her urine not in her blood. This made the judge satisfied that Natasha was not on drugs.

In some reports, at the start of Karsaz road accident methamphetamine was found in the driver, which made a separate FIR in the case. However, file was already against Natasha.

What was the Karsaz Road Accident

Natasha Danish was driving a Toyota Land Cruiser on Karsaz Road when she hit three motorcycles and a car before overturning on the karsaz road in Karachi city. The hit made by Natasha resulted in the death of 22-year-old Amna and her 60-year-old father Imran Arif, while three more people were harmed in this accident.

On this, police arrested Natasha Danish and charged her with manslaughter. During court attendance, the police didn’t bring Natasha in. According to police, Natasha is getting treatment at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) while in custody. The investigation officer (IO) had requested a 14-day police remand, but the court granted only a one-day remand.

After this, Natasha was presented before a District East judicial magistrate, and police still demanded a 14-day remand. Natasha had been discharged from JPMC’s psychiatric ward before being brought to court.

Imtiaz Arif, who registered the case complaint, attended the hearing with his lawyer, Barrister Aziz Ghouri. A person who got harmed in this accident having a Honda Civic also appeared in court.

During the hearing in the court, Natasha’s lawyer claimed that the charges against her were available. On this IO Rehan Ahmed told the court that section 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which carries a non-bailable offense for causing death by negligence, had been added to the case.

A lawyer who is representing one of the victim’s family demanded an investigation that Natasha was under the influence of drugs during the incident happening time.

The Court asked Natasha for her husband’s name and she told the court also she tells that the police treated him well. The court then decided to send Natasha to jail on a 14-day judicial remand and ordered the IO to submit a charge sheet at the next hearing.
