Reports also informed that Additional Sessions Judge Sajida Akhtar delivered the verdict, imposing a fine of Rs 10 lakh on each convicted officer.
This news about Punjab Police has also revealed the names of four officers who were involved in a fake encounter Head Constable Asghar Ali, Constable Falak Sher, Constable Faisal Rehman, and Police Volunteer Waqas.
These officers have received death sentences for staging the encounter, which took place in Faisalabad’s Millat Town in August 2018.
The court, however, acquitted ASI Javed Akhtar due to a lack of evidence against him.
The victims, Arsalan Liaquat and Usman Munawwar, were reportedly killed in retaliatory gunfire. A murder case was filed against the police officials by a citizen, Sajid Mehmood.
According to the prosecution, the victims were on a motorcycle heading toward Bagh Wali Pully near Millat Town when they were shot by the officers, who then tried to pass off the incident as an encounter.
