The German Embassy Islamabad has shared their response regarding student visa applications for the upcoming winter semesters. They will only grant visas to the most deserving students, as they are stunned by seeing applications announced by the German Embassy in Islamabad on Monday.
Many students are sharing their problems regarding visa interviews and appointments from the German Embassy in Islamabad. Although many students have successfully secured admission to various German universities and institutes, visa delays are causing them trouble.
The appointment for the study visa was started on 21 May for those who want to enroll themselves for winter intake. Students who have applied via the fast-track process are getting appointments, but students on normal visas are still waiting for confirmation.
A lot of students have shared their difficulties regarding the visa high cost and other challenges they are facing. The Embassy responded they will only be able to process only most deserving students, such as those with public scholarships and great academic results.
The Embassy further stated that they know the interest of Pakistani students who want to get the best education in Germany, but the number of applications currently has crossed the limit.
They also mentioned that the number of visas processed at the embassy has been increasing and that they are looking into ways to improve the situation for future academic years.
The issue of getting visa appointments at the German Embassy in Pakistan is not new. In May, the embassy stated that they couldn’t fulfill all appointment requests for the summer semester due to the high number of applicants, which exceeded their capacity.
The embassy explained that students applying for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with an unconditional admission letter from a German university should expect longer waiting times for appointments. They also said that scholarship holders and PhD students would be prioritized, along with students who have a high GPA (3.7 or above).
