Islamabad News: Military Troops Take Charge of Security in the Capital

According to the latest Islamabad News, Military troops are patrolling the Red Zone and other areas after the Interior Ministry approved their deployment for security in the city.

The Ministry issued the orders under Article 245 of the constitution, allowing military support for the civil authorities from October 5th to 17th, 2024.

The troops were called in to maintain law and order due to the 23rd meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the arrival of important delegations.

The military will work with the federal police and have the power to control tense situations, arrest troublemakers, and use minimum force, including baton charges and teargas if necessary this was confirmed after local media revealed the latest Islamabad News for today. They can also act against threats without the presence of police, according to the government’s notice.

The army is supporting the paramilitary Rangers and Frontier Constabulary for this task.
