Pakistan Team Captain Babar Azam Steps Down from Leadership Role

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan team captain Babar Azam, has officially resigned from his role. Babar Azam confirmed his step down from the captain position in a post on Tuesday.

Pakistan Team captain shared this decision on social media platform X, effective immediately, was communicated to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and team management last month.

Babar expressed his gratitude for the chance to lead, stating, “It has been an honor to captain this team, but now it’s time for me to focus on my role as a player.”

He also mentioned that the pressure of being captain was significant, and by stepping down, he hoped to improve his performance and spend more time with his family.

Babar thanked his fans for their constant support, saying that their enthusiasm helped motivate him. He said he is proud of what the team has achieved together and is excited to continue contributing as a player.
