The ongoing PTI protests in Islamabad forced the federal government to spend Rs27 million and deployed 6,000 personnel to stop Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters from holding protests at D-Chowk in Islamabad.
According to sources, 600 containers were used to block 27 location in the capital city Islamabad, the rent for one container is PKR 40,000 per day and in total it costs PKR 24 million.
Furthermore, more than 60 heavy vehicles were brought to transport the police force at 48 different locations in the city. The transportation charges were Rs1.2 million, with each vehicle’s rent at Rs20,000 daily.
The lunch and dinner for these 6,000 personnel hired by the government to stop PTI protests, PKR 2.4 million was total bill for the food.
Frontier Constabulary and Rangers joined the police, equipped with anti-riot gear like teargas shells, handcuffs, and prison vehicles, to control the protests.
On Friday, teargas shells were used at five locations – China Chowk, Express Chowk, Fazal-i-Haq Road, Expressway, and Chongi No 26 – to disperse the protesters.
