Former Pakistani Cricket captain Sarfraz Ahmed has shared his future decision and plan as a cricketer, after being named as the captain of the Dolphins team for the upcoming Champions One-Day Cup, which will be organized in Faislabad from September 12 to 29.
Sarfaraz Ahmed, who is 37 years old and currently part of an active player, said that a leading role is a useful learning experience and also confirmed that he will be available for national duties in domestic and International matches.
“This is a great learning opportunity for me. I aim to help develop players who can represent Pakistan,” Sarfaraz said during a press conference.
He also revealed that he will continue playing cricket as long as he is capable of playing.
“I am available for the Pakistan team and will fulfill my domestic duties. Whenever selected, I will be ready to play.” Sarfraz said.
Furthermore, he also talked about the recent Pakistan vs Bangladesh test series, in which the home side faced defeat by 2-0, and requested cricket fans to show some patience and support the Pakistan Cricket Team.
“This team will bounce back. Please continue to support the players in the Champions Cup,” he stated.
Sarfaraz Ahmed also tells how he got selected for the Dolphins Team and tells young players how they can focus on their careers. He added “We picked the team from a pool of 150 players, with an emphasis on developing U19 players. Though it’s a short time frame, we will work to set Pakistan cricket on the right path.”
