DUBAI: The UAE National Day i2024 has announced a four-day holiday for celebrations starting Wednesday.
This year, the UAE National Day will be officially called “Eid Al Etihad”, meaning “Union,” to honor the Emirates’ unification on December 2, 1971. The celebrations will mark 53 years of unity, pride, and heritage.
Special events and activities will occur across all seven Emirates, with dedicated “Eid Al Etihad” zones. While the main event’s location hasn’t been revealed, the holidays will coincide with the last long weekend of 2024, as December 2 and 3 fall on Monday and Tuesday, giving residents four days off.
The organizing committee, led by Eisa Alsubousi, has emphasized sustainability in this year’s celebrations. They will provide guides on reducing waste, recycling, and reusing decorations to encourage responsible festivities.
The committee also urged schools, businesses, and families to participate in the celebrations and join in this historic moment.
