PM Shehbaz Sharif to Address Key Issues at UNGA 2024 Today

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is ready to address the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) today in New York. In the UNGA 2024 speech by PM Shehbaz, he will focus on major international issues, including the conflicts in Palestine and Kashmir, and the need for climate action.

According to the Foreign Office, the Prime Minister will emphasize the importance of resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute for lasting peace in South Asia. He will also demand globally help to save the countries that are affected by climate change, as Pakistan has also faced many challenges in this area.

Furthermore, In the UNGA 2024 session, Pakistan’s Prime Minister will met with the Iran President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian. Both Political leaders will discuss about boosting trade, cultural trades, and collaboration. Both leaders will also talk about the joint support for the countries.

Focus on Islamophobia and Climate Change

The prime minister of Pakistan will also marked the increasing problem of Islamophobia and how it can affect global peace. He will guide the world to save Muslim rights and promote tolerance. However, Climate change will be the other important topic, where he will highlight how Pakistan is suffering from this issue and call for international climate justice.

Shehbaz Sharif will also demand the rights for innocent Palestinians and how Israelis are showing aggression on them. He will also show Pakistan support to the people of Palestine. Also, the issue of Kashmir will be discussed, with the prime minister urging the implementation of UN resolutions for peace.

Bilateral Meetings and Pakistan’s Global Role

During his visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also expected to attend various high-level meetings with world leaders to discuss global issues, including peace, development, and climate action. His address will reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to working with the United Nations and its member states for global peace and prosperity.

In his speech, the prime minister will also highlight Pakistan’s incoming membership in the UN Security Council for the 2025-26 term. He will emphasize Pakistan’s commitment to upholding the UN Charter and fostering international cooperation.
