ISLAMABAD – Government officials have denied the arrest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur by paramilitary forces in Islamabad, despite some reports claiming otherwise.

Earlier reports suggested that Rangers had detained Ali Amin Khan Gandapur and that legal actions were being taken against him, a close ally of Imran Khan.

Thousands of PTI workers have gathered in the capital, even as authorities used tear gas to try to disperse them.

The government has taken measures to slow the protesters by digging trenches and placing iron nails on roads.

PTI has accused the ruling PML-N party of launching heavy tear gas attacks at D-Chowk and shared video footage to back up their claims.

Despite these challenges, PTI has vowed to continue their protests at D-Chowk, urging their supporters not to damage public property. They also claimed that plainclothes officers were trying to provoke violent actions, similar to the events of May 9.

The party has also asked building owners in the Blue Area not to let police use their rooftops, fearing they might deploy tear gas against peaceful demonstrators.
