Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is seeking approval of Constitutional Amendments in Pakistan, a federal cabinet meeting today (Sunday) will be approved. Once it is finalized it will be presented in front of the National Assembly for further improvement.
Furthermore, a special committee of the Parliament, led by Syed Khurshid Shah of the People’s Party, will meet at 2 pm to differ these modifications along with judicial reforms. Also, the drafts for the judicial reforms will be presented.
The main purpose of the meeting is to bring both parties current and opposition together and talk and resolve some important issues. The meeting was supposed to be organized today at 10 am, but it was delayed as members were busy to discuss the key matters.

Because of the committee’s request, the National Assembly session was also pushed from 11:30 am to 4 pm. The Speaker of the National Assembly approved this change in timing.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also met to discuss the current political situation and the proposed constitutional changes. The meeting was organized in the Bilawal Bhutto office in the Parliament House, along with Bilawal Law Minister Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar also joined.
Before this, PM Shehbaz had a late-night meeting with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, which looks like an important political step to move. Sources say the prime minister asked Maulana Fazlur Rehman again to join the government. They also talk about the constitutional amendments in Pakistan, but in return, Maulana Rehman demanded for some time to discuss it with the party before taking this decision.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman requested a copy of the draft of the constitutional amendments and said he would respond after talking to his party. Additionally, from the sources, we get to know that Maulana Rehman is not interested in supporting the amendments anymore. Following this, a government team, including Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, met with Maulana to discuss judicial reforms and the proposed changes.
On Saturday night, the prime minister hosted a dinner for Pakistan Muslim League (N) members and coalition partners like MQM, BAP, National Party, and others. During the event, PM Shehbaz asked the members to be present in Parliament today. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar shared some details of the proposed amendments during the dinner.
Ishaq Dar mentioned that a special constitutional court would be set up in the Supreme Court to handle public interest cases. Those attending the dinner assured the prime minister of their support for the amendments.
In his speech, PM Shehbaz emphasized that the country cannot afford any more instability and urged Parliament members to reject forces that create division. He also said that Parliament is the highest authority in the country, and all laws should be made in the best interest of the country and its people.
