PESHAWAR: The Local Government KPK is ready to expand free healthcare under the Sehat Card Scheme by adding more public and private hospitals.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur directed the health departments to hold a policy board meeting to finalize which hospitals meet the Sehat Card standards for inclusion. This decision was taken during a Health Department meeting under the supervision of CM Ali Amin on Monday.
In attendance were CM’s Health Advisor Ehtesham Ali, Additional Chief Secretary for Planning and Development Ikramullah Khan, Health Secretary Syed Adeel Shah, and other officials from KP Health Foundation and Sehat Card Plus.
Furthermore, More hospitals are being added to Sehat Cards, outsourcing health services in remote districts, and improving health departments. The meeting also addressed unpaid financial obligations related to outsourced hospitals, urging the finance department to clear them quickly to restore services.
The Provincial Cabinet reviewed additional hospital outsourcing plans through the Health Foundation and asked the Health Department to submit new proposals for Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) by next month.
The Chief Minister approved a partnership with Roche Pharmaceuticals to provide free medicine for hemophilia, funded by the provincial government and Roche. He emphasized that outsourcing hospitals under the PPP model has improved healthcare access and will continue to bring quality services to remote areas.
